It’s the Season to be jolly, fa la la lalala la!
It’s official, the Holiday season has begun. While everyone is out shopping and getting their gifts to put under their trees, the City of Peekskill, NY has officially kicked off their holiday season. This past Saturday, December 1, 2018, families, children, City Officials, DPW Workers, Police Officers, and Mayor Rainey were a part of this memorable celebration.
The Annual Tree Lighting was hosted by radio personality Kacey Morabito with live performances by Doug Ferony, the Peekskill City Singers, and ARTS10566, who had the crowd singing along and having a jolly good ole time. The cold weather didn’t dampen the spirit of those who come out to celebrate. When Santa arrived the crowd cheered, especially the children. They knew it was time for the tree lighting, gifts from Santa and the joy of taking photos with jolly St. Nick.
It was a phenomenal evening, just to see everyone out and about for this joyous occasion and uniting as one. The Peekskill Ledger got into the spirit of giving too, handing out gifts to surprise event attendees. After all, it is the season of giving.  The atmosphere was filled with the smell of Christmas. Tis the season of giving and the spirit of what Peekskill is about.
The event was presented by the Peekskill BID, the City of Peekskill, and the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.
